OPPORTUNITY
If figuring out our purpose, what we should do, and who we should become were easy and obvious, life would probably be pretty boring. In reality, it’s less about having a clear-cut plan and more about committing to something long enough to gain wisdom, insight, and a new perspective. Life is a process, and often, it’s the unexpected moments and challenges that shape us the most.
Eirionna, with great pride, shared how her entrepreneurial journey began in an unexpected way. It all started one summer day when she stopped by FPR after finishing summer school and decided to join the Entrepreneurs Camp while waiting to get picked up. That was her first exposure to the world of business, and it sparked something within her.
She didn’t stop there. Eirionna continued her involvement the following year, helping run the FPR Concession Stand after school. It was there she learned the real-world skills of managing money, marketing, and customer service. Little did she know, this hands-on experience would lead her to her very first job at Brandon & Lee Anna Lackey’s Concession Stand. For her, and many high schoolers at FamilyPoint, working concessions is a part time job that teaches valuable lessons beyond just making change. It’s about learning to manage time, connect with people, and navigate the complexities of a real job— like finding a ride to your shift and getting someone to cover for you on Homecoming! And for Eirionna, it was the stepping stone to a new future.
Through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to step into the unknown, Eirionna’s path unfolded one opportunity at a time. She exudes confidence and pride. She is a different person than when she first walked through FPR’s doors a few years ago. Her life is being transformed. It’s a perfect example of how sometimes, the best journeys are the ones that start with a single, unexpected step.
