CAMP OTX

Through Ozark For All, we received 155 scholarships for participants in FPR programs to attend Camp OTX, a week long Christian camp in Bandera, Texas. It's a week filled with unforgettable moments: dancing on tables at meals, soaring to new heights on the blob, tackling the ropes course and zip line, and, most importantly, deepening their faith through friendships and experiences that last a lifetime.

OTX is a place where our participants can just be kids and also where they grow into leaders. This summer, 19 incoming high school juniors and seniors, who had grown up attending camp, took on new responsibilities as part of the Camper Leadership Team. They worked as hard as they played, guiding younger campers and setting an example for teamwork and leadership. FPR alumni like Alexa, Frida, Lali, and Isaiah returned to work as counselors, giving back to the camp that had shaped them.

On the Sunday we arrived, all first-time campers were assigned to one of two teams—Blue for Osage or Red for Caddo. Every morning, teams competed for points, preparing for the ultimate challenge: the relay race that would take place at the end of the week. The excitement peaked on Thursday morning, when the staff donned black attire and the campers filed out of their cabins, faces painted red or blue, ready for the competition. The spirit was high, and the energy was contagious.

The team captains were chosen from the oldest campers, based on their leadership qualities, positive attitudes, and determination. This summer, every captain came from FPR. Chassity and Santiago led the Osage team, while Anissa and Timothy led Caddo. These four displayed exceptional leadership, carrying the team flags and running the final leg of the relay to bring their respective teams across the finish line.

When the race ended, tears flowed as all the campers and staff circled up. It was a poignant reminder that, regardless of the outcome, we are all united—one team, supporting each other and growing stronger together. We are all on a shared journey to fulfill the purpose God created for each of us and to make this world a better place.
