BEAUTIFUL SPACES
Beauty isn’t just something we see—it’s something we experience. It’s in the pages of books turned in the library, the laughter during games, the conversations in the lobby, and the energy of soccer balls flying across the green. It’s in the fresh paint, the fixed benches, and the new workout space.
FamilyPoint is fortunate to rent space in the Outreach Center of West Houston where we have built a hub for participants, volunteers, and families. Nestled between the schools, apartments, and churches, it’s a great location where we work with community partners to envision and create meaningful spaces and programs.
Christ Memorial Lutheran Church (CMLC) allowed FPR to build out a workout space in their portable building and with generous donations from the MAC and Memorial Green Turf it’s decked out with all the exercise equipment our athletes need for strength training. CMLC and Pastor Jason also host a weekly Bible Study and Hang Out for our middle school participants. Saturday soccer games, weekly practices, and siblings practicing their goal shots happened on the CMLC field behind the church along with FPR after school participants utilizing the playscape space, and special events like the Ozark Christmas party.
FinD volunteers dedicated a Saturday to improve our space, installing a shed, setting up a rainwater catchment system, planting trees, and spreading gravel. They also power-washed sidewalks, repaired benches, and refreshed our art room. Eagle Scouts Alex Cheng, Kyle Cunningham, and Winston Silsby contributed by building new furniture, paving paths, and enhancing our garden.
These contributions are more than just physical upgrades—they’re about transforming our environment into a vibrant, welcoming space for everyone at FPR and expanding our sense of possibility. With each improvement, we’re reminded that beauty is in both the big projects and the small moments of collaboration.
